One Tough Boy

Yesterday Logen went in to have his tonsils and adnoids out. He was being so brave. They gave him some cars to play with while he was waiting, and he still will not let them out of his sight.

He left into surgery and when he was finished the anesthesiolist came in and told us that the funniest thing happened when he was getting ready to give him his IV. He said that he has never had a child do this before. He was telling him about the gas mask how it would make him sleepy and Logen reached up and grabbed it and put it on his face and held it there himself until he fell asleep.

He made it through the surgery like a champion. The Dr. came in when he was done and told us that his adnoids were obstructing 75% of his nose airway. And his tonsils where even bigger than the adnoids. How he was breathing all this time is beyond me.

This is him when he came from recovery. He was trying to escape from the bed so I had to lay with him. He didn't want to wake up and when he did he cried from the pain. But he only cried for a few minutes and then he was fine and he hasn't cried since. I would probably be bawling my eyes out if it was me. He has been so tough.
We finally made it home and he just slept most of the day. When he woke up I gave him his medicine and some jello, and he devoured the jello.

I must say that I am so impressed with Logen. He has been so tough. He has hardly whined.
Logen we love you and are so impressed with how strong you are.

Wild Turkeys

Logen and Graden have been so naughty recently. I was down working in the office just trying to get things done when it suddenly got quiet. I went upstairs to check on them and they were watching a movie. So I just went back to work. After a bit I heard them running around upstairs, so I went back up to check on them. And I found a mess. There was fingernail polish all over Dagen and Logen's dresser and TV, wall, and then into my room where it was on the wall and then I went where it originated from; my bathroom. They painted the bathtub purple, the toilet pink, and the tile was multiple colors. Then the door and walls were also painted to match the tile. Oh and they painted themselves; clothes, face, bellies. I was so upset that I didn't think to take pictures. But I sure wish I would have now.

So Logen had a Dr. appointment that same afternoon so I was trying really hard to get all the paint off of him so the Dr. didn't think I was a bad mom. I had to use a whole bottle of polish remover to get it off of him and Graden.

Anyway a little update, Logen will be getting his tonsils removed next week. We have known this was going to happen for awhile. His tonsils are massive. He chokes on his food everytime he eats, which isn't that often. He won't eat because it is too hard. So wish us luck on this little adventure. I think he will do really well. He is a very tough kid.

Wow, We Have Been Busy!

So I will try to post pictures another day. But we have had a busy couple of weeks just enjoying being together as a family. Christmas was great. The kids had so much fun and really got into it this year. We visited with lots of family and friends. The New Year has really started with a bang, Chad got the flu. And I feel like a chicken with my head cut off with piles of work to do. So back to the grinding stone. So I hope everyone had a great holiday and made some great new years resolutions (I hope you fulfill them also)!
