Dagen Lost his 1st Tooth
It has been a very long month or so trying to get Dagen to wiggle and tug on that little tooth! We would ask just to look at it and he would start squirming around. On Saturday, we asked if we could look and he closed his mouth real tight and wouldn't let us. He finally decided to let us look at it and we tried to pull it out. He started crying and ran into the other room. He came back a bit later, calmed down. Chad went and got a piece of dental floss and tied a slip knot on it. He told Dagen that we are going to put it on the tooth and then Dagen could pull it as hard as he felt comfortable with. Dagen went to tug on it and the floss slipped off the tooth. So Chad did it again and he tightened a bit tighter. He told Dagen to start pulling on it. Meanwhile, Chad was tugging on it at the same time and POP! that little tooth came right out. He cried and cried saying that it hurt. Well Grandpa asked him later if it really hurt or if he was just faking. He said it didn't hurt but he just didn't want to have a hole in his smile. But he is still adorable even with a hole in his smile. He was so excited in the morning when he discovered that the tooth fairy had brought him money. He said that he is going to be so rich by the time he is done losing all of his teeth. Maybe, but mom and dad are going to be so poor by that time also!!

A Tribute to Gracie
I actually linked over to this site from Miriam's, but I thought it was definitely something everyone should read. I read this blog from beginning to end in just a few hours. This family has been through so much. A true roller coaster experience. The Gledhill's really make you realize how precious everyone is. Read Gracie's story here.

Dagen's Bday Pictures
Dagen had a family party and a friends party. For the family party he had a Super Mario Brothers cake. We had the family party a couple of days before his real birthday because my brothers were leaving for a snowmobile race that weekend.

Opening Presents

Blowing out Candles
So if you follow our blog you know that I always make the kids pancakes for their birthdays and let them blow out a candle. This year Dagen wanted blue pancakes. YUMMY!

For his friends party we went to Jumpin Jacks then back to our house for dinner, presents, cake and ice cream. We had 18 kids for all this fun. Dagen had a great time and really enjoyed being the spotlight. Everyone wanted to play with him and he didn't mind that at all! I have a ton of pics from Jumpin Jacks but I am only going to post a couple.

The day before his birthday it was Wacky Wednesday at school. And this is a pic of Dagen and Taite before school.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAGEN!!
I don't have much time to post as I am having 18 kids to my house in an hour. But I just wanted to wish my favorite 6 year old HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Dagen, I hope you know how much I love you and appreciate you. You are the biggest helper. You have the best personality and are always so kind to everyone. You are so sweet to your little brothers, well when you want to be anyway, but most of the time. I love that you will sit and cuddle with me and let me enjoy your presence, because I know it will go so fast before you won't want to be home anymore. You will always want to be with your friends and before long girlfriends. So lets treasure our moments before you grow up faster than you already have. I love you buddy! I hope you have the best birthday ever!
I will post pics of the parties soon.

Clean Shave - Kind of!
Graden decided to climb into my bathtub yesterday, something he has never done before. Probably because he has been too small to do it, but he managed to now. He got my razor from the other side of the tub and started shaving - his forehead!! At least he didn't manage to get any of his hair or eyebrows though. He did cut his little head though. Hopefully he knows not to do that again. Graden is so funny yet so mischevious. He gets into everything ie nail polish! But we love him and he makes us laugh.

Super Student

Yesterday I picked up Dagen and Taite from school.
Dagen jumped in the car and said "mom, you need to take me shopping."
"Okay why?" was my response.
"Well, here I will show you," as he scrambles through his backpack. Finally he pulled out an envelope that had $10 in it.
"Dagen, who gave this to you?"
"My teacher, oh and this." He pulls out a certificate for Super Student of February.
I was a bit relieved, I thought geez he must have had his pants that have a hole in the knee on and she felt bad for him. But no, he is just a SUPER Student.
Congratulations Dagen we are proud of you. And you are the best Super Student and Son!!
Love ya buddy!

Sugar Cane
Today Dagen did a little presentation on Sugar Cane. His grandpa and grandma went to Hawaii and brought back some stuff, so he took it in to show his class. He did a great job teaching his class how sugar is made. We printed off some pictures and put them on a little board so he could remember everything. He dressed in his Hawaiian shirt and beaded lei. Good Job Dagen, we love you!

One Tough Boy
Yesterday Logen went in to have his tonsils and adnoids out. He was being so brave. They gave him some cars to play with while he was waiting, and he still will not let them out of his sight.

He left into surgery and when he was finished the anesthesiolist came in and told us that the funniest thing happened when he was getting ready to give him his IV. He said that he has never had a child do this before. He was telling him about the gas mask how it would make him sleepy and Logen reached up and grabbed it and put it on his face and held it there himself until he fell asleep.
He made it through the surgery like a champion. The Dr. came in when he was done and told us that his adnoids were obstructing 75% of his nose airway. And his tonsils where even bigger than the adnoids. How he was breathing all this time is beyond me.

This is him when he came from recovery. He was trying to escape from the bed so I had to lay with him. He didn't want to wake up and when he did he cried from the pain. But he only cried for a few minutes and then he was fine and he hasn't cried since. I would probably be bawling my eyes out if it was me. He has been so tough.
We finally made it home and he just slept most of the day. When he woke up I gave him his medicine and some jello, and he devoured the jello.
I must say that I am so impressed with Logen. He has been so tough. He has hardly whined.
Logen we love you and are so impressed with how strong you are.

Wild Turkeys
Logen and Graden have been so naughty recently. I was down working in the office just trying to get things done when it suddenly got quiet. I went upstairs to check on them and they were watching a movie. So I just went back to work. After a bit I heard them running around upstairs, so I went back up to check on them. And I found a mess. There was fingernail polish all over Dagen and Logen's dresser and TV, wall, and then into my room where it was on the wall and then I went where it originated from; my bathroom. They painted the bathtub purple, the toilet pink, and the tile was multiple colors. Then the door and walls were also painted to match the tile. Oh and they painted themselves; clothes, face, bellies. I was so upset that I didn't think to take pictures. But I sure wish I would have now.
So Logen had a Dr. appointment that same afternoon so I was trying really hard to get all the paint off of him so the Dr. didn't think I was a bad mom. I had to use a whole bottle of polish remover to get it off of him and Graden.
Anyway a little update, Logen will be getting his tonsils removed next week. We have known this was going to happen for awhile. His tonsils are massive. He chokes on his food everytime he eats, which isn't that often. He won't eat because it is too hard. So wish us luck on this little adventure. I think he will do really well. He is a very tough kid.

Wow, We Have Been Busy!
So I will try to post pictures another day. But we have had a busy couple of weeks just enjoying being together as a family. Christmas was great. The kids had so much fun and really got into it this year. We visited with lots of family and friends. The New Year has really started with a bang, Chad got the flu. And I feel like a chicken with my head cut off with piles of work to do. So back to the grinding stone. So I hope everyone had a great holiday and made some great new years resolutions (I hope you fulfill them also)!

Mom's Jumpin' Jack Christmas
My mom held her annual Christmas party yesterday. We went to Jumpin' Jacks and then back to her house for some very delicious dinner, followed by a visit from Santa Claus! The kids had so much fun jumping and sliding. The pics didn't turn out all that well. I was using Chad's camera and I must have had it on a wrong setting because everything turned out really fuzzy. But here are some of the better ones.
Dagen

Logen kind of tumbled here!

Graden did not love the place for quite awhile, but after a bit we couldn't get him off the slides. And of course he was too little to go up them alone. So I would have to go on them also.

The whole family - although you can't see Dagen and Logen they are in the middle of Chad and I.

Graden and Santa - still doesn't like him!

Logen and Santa
And I have no idea why I don't have any pictures of Dagen sitting on Santa's lap. What a bad mom!
Anyway, thanks Mom for the great party. We all had a great time!

Skating Christmas Party
Every year for Christmas we go to Classic Skating with my dad's family. It has been a tradition since I can remember. the kids have so much fun skating or riding their scooters. We eat, sit on Santa's lap, eat, skate, and eat! This year, my cousin made some super cute hats for all the kids!

Logen

Graden, he doesn't like Santa yet! Big, scary, hairy man!

The kids with Santa - they were singing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Santa said our family needs singing lessons, what is he talking about we are pros!

Santa, Grandma, and Grandpa
Well if I don't happen to post before Christmas since it gets a bit chaotic, Merry Christmas from our family to yours! Hope everyone has a great holiday!

Christmas Movie
Today Dagen got to go on his first bus ride. He was so excited to go on a bus. They went to Provo to see the movie "Horton Hears a Who". I asked how his first bus ride was. And this is what he said "It was way too far to drive a little car so we had to take a big bus. But mom I got to sit right next to my best friend, Cameron, and he is so funny. He made me laugh the whole time." Sounds like they had a great time. And the best part is I didn't have to go. Therefore, I didn't have to chase two little rascals around the theater.

Isabel After Surgery
You can check Isabel's blog here for an update of her surgery. But Heather sent this picture last night. It was Isabel having dinner. She requested chicken nuggets, a slushie, and fruit loops. She seems to be doing very well and we are thinking of her and her family. Thanks for all the prayers from everyone.

Random Stuff
So it has been awhile since I posted anything fun. So here is a few random pics from the past few weeks.

Graden smiling for the camera - this is when he first noticed I had it out.

This is when he was trying to get the camera from me.

Graden being really mad, that I won't give him the camera.

Mean mom!

Threw himself on the ground and is now pouting. I think I won the camera battle!

Dagen and Logen hiding behind the couch playing the Leapsters. I think they were hiding from the camera monster (Graden)!

Dagen putting chapstick on Logen.

The Christmas tree is up so where else is a better place to fall asleep than underneath it? Graden and Woody (in-laws puppy)
We went to the light parade on Friday but the pics didn't work very good. We didn't have a good spot but here is some hopefully they look alright!

The boys and I

Chad talking the phone the whole time! Boring!

Okay after looking at all of them they all looked like a big blur of lights. But this is the train that the boys really loved. Hope you can all make a train out of that?!?!

Girls Trip to Mesquite
So we needed a break from all the husbands and hunting. So we took a little trip down to Mesquite. We stayed in my mom's condo and just relaxed and goofed around. We had so much fun. The trip included Jen, Sara, Brittney, Erica and myself. We decided to dress up in 80s clothes and do our hair in the very fashionable 80s do's, we looked so goofy but we had a great time making fools of ourselves. The same night of the 80s, my friends surprised me with a little birthday surprise since my birthday is coming up soon. It was so sweet. They gave me a letter that took us on a picture scavenger hunt. I had to get a picture doing a handstand in front of the waterfall at Casablanca, find a group of people to sing "I'm a little teapot" for me, and find the oldest man around to give me a birthday kiss on the cheek. It was pretty funny since we were all dressed in 80s garb trying to find people to sing. But here are some pics of our fun getaway!

Jen, Sara, and Erica

Learning how to use the timer, I think we did pretty good!

The handstand in front of Casablanca, I don't have the other pictures from the scavenger hunt, I will have to get them.
Thanks ladies for a very unforgettable weekend!(or maybe we should forget the outfits, and the weird looks we got!) Love ya all!
