Binky or No Binky

Okay so I need to take away Graden's binky soon. He is 14 months old and it is time. With Dagen I just clipped the end of the binky and he refused to take it anymore. So I tried that with Graden and he still sucks on it. Does anyone have an idea on how I can eliminate the binky?

I am really having a hard time taking it away because Chad said that he will be our last one. And that just makes him still a baby to me if he still has the binky. Maybe I am crazy, but I just don't want him to grow up if he is the last baby in the Bringhurst Clan!

If you have any ideas, please leave a comment and let me know!

Thanks!

hey i tried cutting off the tip with cydnee's binki and she kept sucking on it so i told her how gross they were and that she needed to throw it away so she took it to the garbage and threw it in, so then if she ever asked for it i told her that she threw it away ans there were no more so she adventually gave up.

This is a hard one. My oldest(LM) loved and adored her "passy" I couldn't bear the thought of taking it way and I needed her to have it. One weekend we went out of town and my in laws babysat. My MIL never once got it out of the bag to give it to her and LM never asked. So when I go home I just threw it away. Yeah to a great MIL. My youngest would never take one. So I didn't have to get rid of one. Fourteen months does seem a little young though, have you talked to your pediatrician or dentist?

Devin cut Connor's binky and I think I was sadder than Connor was because the binky meant he slept all night & didn't eat everything off the floor. I know what you mean about it being the last and not wanting them to grow up. I have heard of people just cutting a little more of the binky off each day until there is no more.

I think you should have another baby. You have such cute babies it is a shame to waste that cute baby DNA.

Mikey did the same thing Bree. I could not get that binky away from him forever, and then one day he just wouldn't take it. What do you mean Graden's your last, I'm pretty sure there is one more baby Bringhurst that needs to be here, just kidding. Try giving him a little lollipop for about 5min when he wants the binky, maybe he will forget about it. Someone told me to try that once.
